Dr. Sophia W. Barnes is a modern-day optometrist and owner at Vision Corner Uptown, LTD.
Which is considered the “Heart of Houston”. With HEB Central Market close by, the Galleria and River Oaks District all unique and individual.

Her mission is to provide the highest level of eye care with the latest technology while also making sure her patients are leaving in style with the vast selection of eyewear collections represented in her optical.
The areas of expertise patients seek when booking with Dr. Barnes include digital eye strain, computer vision syndrome, special contact lenses including myopia management, dry eyes, diabetic eye exam and compassionate eye care. Her goal is to ensure all patients feel welcomed and safe space benefiting all.
A Happy Place — “When you enter our office, our patients say that it is a serene and happy atmosphere.” Patients leave happy because of the professional staff and compassionate care at Vision Corner.
Dr. Barnes was born in Fort Sill Oklahoma on a Military base and was raised traveling around the world with her Military Family. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Houston” with Honors and earned her Optometry Degree also from the University of Houston. Today, she is and active member of American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association and Harris Country Optometric Association.
She is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is also a Migraine Eye Specialist and Nuerolens Eye Specialist.
Dr. Barnes spends her spare time with her family and friends. Her special interest include golf and several other sports.

A fun fact about me, I’m the only one in my family thus far who’s done a shark cage diving and parasailing in Ohau, Hawaii. 🙂
